By 1925, many broadcast and radio clubs were officially registered in the club registers as “radio clubs”. From 1925 onwards there is evidence that the members of radio clubs increasingly agreed (specific reason unknown) “… following the example of other radio clubs, to give the club a German name…” This is what it says in archive documents about the Chemnitzer Radio-Club e.V. (research and website DM6WAN). From the end of 1925, this radio club became the Chemnitzer Funkverein.
One reason for this name debate could be the different meaning of the term “radio” in German.
